In 1962, Samuel Parris, his wife Elizabeth, their daughter Betty, Samuel's niece Abigail Williams and their slave Tituba moved in a little village called Salem, in Massachusetts, invited by the elders of the village for his naming as the Village Minister. A year before, Samuel was invited to be the village's preacher, but he ended up in Barbados. As soon as they moved in, Betty was showing some strange illness. The symptoms were really strange: she would all of a sudden jump and run like she was being chased by something. She would hide under chairs and tables, had a high body temperature that went with shivering, the typical signs of fever, and there was more. She was contorting her face like she was in great pain.

Witchcraft was soon suspected, as Betty's close friends Mercy Luis, Mary Walcott and Ann Putnam were showing the same signs. It wasn't long ..

Mention the words "black magic" and images of bloody rituals and voodoo dolls come to mind - and for good reason! It is strongly associated with Satan and was thought to be practiced by witches who had made pacts with the devil during the Salem witch trials of 1692.

This form of sorcery was believed to create toil and trouble for unsuspecting victims. In this article, we'll explore the magical world of the dark arts and see how it's still practiced in the modern world.

The existence of black magic can be traced back to the ancient Egyptians and Persians, but the practice was most predominant in the Middle Ages.

Regardless of the desired outcome, the procedure usually included profanation of Christian rites, complete with evil masses to worship animals and reptiles.

Some of these rites were soaked in blood. Animals and even young children were often used as sacrifices and orgiastic dances were performed.

Ghosts and spirits usually mean no harm to the living. Sometimes they don't even know that they are ghosts. These paranormal entities will end up attached either by choice or by some other factor to peoples homes, stores, streets and other places . Due to the many emails we have received asking how to remove these paranormal entities from their homes, we will try to cover most of the many different options there are out there for doing just that.

One of the most simple methods of removing a ghost or spiritual entity from your home is to speak to the ghost in a loud and firm voice and tell it to please leave your home. You don't need to be mean about it, especially if the ghost isn't showing any signs of being evil or mean to you. Mentioning that the spirit is in fact a ghost might help if it is unaware of the fact. The ghost may still believe that it is alive and still think it is the owner of the home, portraying you as the intruder. Remember though, this method is best used in the less severe haunting cases.

The Inductive Method of Science

Science adopts the Aristotelian, inductive method to move from the particular to the general, rather like assembling individual pieces of a jigsaw puzzle: discrete observational data are collected and gradually fitted into a general picture, the latter being a mental representational model of the physical effects observed. The mind process is predominantly intellectual, applied in a linear mode. The instruments of investigation are limited to, and conditioned by, the five physical senses and their extensions, as telescopes and microscopes, etc. The result is a precise description of the appearances, behaviour and physical mechanisms of the Universe-Nature in her manifold appearances. The prevailing scientific paradigm of materialism has many unsupported and unsubstantiated assumptions. Physical or mathematical modelling are central features of the scientific method of inquiry. This means that science itself is not about truth or knowledge, per se-rather an interpretation of the physical world.

Black magic or dark magic is a type of magic that draws on malevolent powers. It may be used for malevolent acts or to deliberately cause harm in some way. It is alternatively spelt with a 'k' (magick), this term is also known as black magick, dark magick, the dark arts of magick and dark side magick.

In fiction it refers to evil magic. In modern times, people who believe in or claim to practice magic use the term to describe the harmful magic that they consider immoral, as opposed to the good white magic.

Black magic would be invoked to kill, injure, or cause destruction, or for personal gain without regard to harmful consequences to others. As a term, "black magic" is normally used to describe a form of ritual that some group or person does not approve of. Not everything that is called black magic truly has malevolent intentions behind it, and some also consider it to have beneficial and benevolent uses, such as killing off diseases or pests.

Sir Richard Burton, a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, first time used the term ESP in 1870. Thereafter the word ESP was again used in 1870 by a French researcher, Dr. Paul Joire, in 1892 in connection with describing the ability of hypnotized person or person under trance. There is a common belief that a hypnotized person would be able to demonstrate ESP.

Dr. Rudolph Tischner, a Munich ophthalmologist, again used the name ESP In the 1920's in the description of the "externalization of sensibility".
